API keys for your own integrations
Create an API key so your home automation or a spreadsheet can read your charging sessions from Veton.

What an API key is for
An API key lets a program of yours, for example Home Assistant or a script that fills a spreadsheet, read your charging sessions and charger status from Veton. The key can only reach what you can already see on the dashboard, and a key made on this page only reads: it cannot change charger settings.
You need to own a household with at least one charger before you can create a key. Members of a household cannot.
Create a key
- Sign in at v2.vetoncontrol.com and open Settings, then Manage API keys in the API keys card.
- Click Create a key and give it a name that says where it will be used.
- Choose its scope: pick a household, then tick the chargers the key may read, or leave them all unticked to cover the whole household.
- Optionally set an expiry date and limit the key to the addresses your program connects from, under Allowed IP addresses.
- Click Create key. The full secret is shown once. Copy it into the program that needs it before closing the page; afterwards only the first characters remain visible.

Treat the secret like a password. Anyone who has it can read your charging history. If it leaks, revoke the key and create a new one.
Keep an eye on your keys
Each key shows when it was created, when it expires if you set a date, and when it was last used, from which address. If you do not recognise a use, revoke the key with the Revoke button; it stops working immediately. A key also stops working when you lose access to the chargers it covers.
Documentation
The technical reference is public and linked below; it describes every request a key can make. A quick-start with example requests is available from Veton on request.
